| Castings |
Visually casting are inspected at foundries for the foundry defects like blow holes cracks, pin holes, etc. and also visual inspection is carried out for the surface finishing, riser cutting, heat numbers and its co-relations with certificates. |
Wall thickness of the valve body, flange diameter, flange thickness, spindle diameter etc. are maintained as per standard specifications and all such dimensions are checked stage wise. |
Our foundries are also accepting the third party inspection and the clause like witness pouring either by M/s. LLOYDS, PDIL, B.V. Dept. of Atomic Energy / Nuclear power Corporation etc. |
Radiography of the casting is carried out at the foundry level as per ANSI B16.34 for level II or level III. |
| 1) Visual Method for Evaluation of Surface Irregularities to MSS SP-55-2001. |
| 2) Liquid Penetrant Examination Method to MSS SP-93-1999. |
3) Magnetic Particle Examination Method to MSS SP-53-1999. |
| Bar Stock |
Material spindles, Gland Bush, Plug, Spindle Nuts, Back seat Bush are generally produced from the bar stock material which are also tested at independent government approved laboratories before the said material is to be used. |
| Wedge/ Plug & Seat Rings |
Wedge / plug and seat rings up to 80mm NB valves are machined from the SS-410 Barstock. Incase of 100mm NB and above valves "CA-150 Gr." Or Carbon Steel + 13% Cr. wedge / plug and seat rings are used. SS deposition through the welding is carried out. Hard-facing with "Stelliting" is done as per the purchasers requirements. |
| Gaskets |
All the Bellow Seal Valves are assembled with: "METALLIC SPIRAL WOUND GASKETS" i.e. upper and lower gasket for the bellow collar. |
| Gland Packings |
Inconnel metal wire reinforced braided asbestos or Graphite packing rings are preferred for the high temperature application, PTFE-Chevron Packing Rings are also available as per the purchasers choice. |
| Stuffing Box |
In case of the Bellow Seal Valve stuffing box is acting as an additional safety, which has got extra depth for providing sufficient gland packing rings which can be either Graphite or PTFE. |
| Studs Nuts |
High tensile nuts are procured to ASTM A 193 GR B7 and ASTM A 194 GR. 2H and in the case of Stainless Steel Studs and Nuts ASTM A 193 Gr. B8 & A 194 Gr.8 are used. |
| Handwheel |
Handwheel are produced from Cast Carbon Steel (Fabricated ) or Malleable Iron Castings with sturdy and durable design. |
| Yoke Sleeve Yoke Nuts |
Ni-Resist nodular cast iron bar is used to manufacture the Yoke Sleeve and Yoke Nut. |
| Hardness |
For 13% Cr. Stainless Steel Trim, we maintain the differential hardness between plug/ wedge and seat = 50 BHN seat hardness = 250 BHN to 275 BHN, Wedge/Plug hardness= 225 BHN to 250 BHN Spindle Hardness = 200 BHN to 210 BHN. |
